In order to create a web site, you need 2 things - a domain and a web hosting plan for it. The domain registration is the actual website address which you enter in a web browser to access a website, while the hosting space is where your website data is going to be. These are two very closely connected, yet separate services, although many people believe that registering the domain name is enough. Just like the disk space and the monthly traffic features which a given hosting plan offers, there are a certain number of registered domain names which you can include as hosted which means that you can have the web content for them in some account even if the domains are in fact registered through a different firm. In technical terms, it doesn't matter whether a domain is registered and hosted with the same company or is registered with one company and directed to another - in either case your sites will function in exactly the same way.
